My Bio
Overview | By trade, I am a graphic designer, web designer, copy writer, technical writer and author. My desire for excellence in these fields stems from a lifelong love of communication through the written and visual arts. I have done branding and design for businesses large and small, helping their products and services to achieve excellence. |
Education and career |
I grew up in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. At a very early age, I gained a fascination for words and language. As I grew older and attended school, I began to write short stories and poetry and learned to draw. It wasn’t until I reached the 4th grade, when I read a children’s version of Doctor Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, that I developed the desire to write and publish a novel.
I also had a fascination with science, so I went through most of my years in middle and high school with the goal of becoming a doctor. After High school, I attended Lehigh University with the goal of a career in doctor in mind. After becoming disillusioned with the status of healthcare in this country at the time, I abandoned my goals toward becoming a doctor and took up a major in English literature and writing. I also took up minors in Journalism where I worked on the school's newspaper, writing stories and contributing to the paper's comic strip. After Graduating from Lehigh, I went on to pursue his Master’s Degree in Technical Communications from Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. It was then when I pointed his career goals toward being a Graphic Designer. |
Writing |
I have contributed my writing to news publications in Pennsylvania and Albany, New York. I have since contributed my skills as a copy writer to many of the businesses and products for which I have done graphic designs. One of my proudest achievements is that I have authored and self-published three novels under the pseudonym, Ian Black. My books, Three Blind Mice,The Cradle Will Fall and Hush, have all received a level of success and recognition in a constantly changing media landscape. |
Summary |
Lke with most people, my career is filled with many highs and lows, but each step—each project was all with the idea in mind of making a particular project reach its intended target. Having created the branding for several businesses, I continue to push toward that result. I embrace new technilogies and platforms to make each project more dynamic and reachable to its audience, giving each project a a specific task: Create. Drive. Inspire. |
